He has been suffering from brain tumor since 2013. At first the tumor was non-invasive but due to unknown circumstances it has transformed into an agressive form called anaplastic astrocytoma, III grade glioma cancer. An extensive surgery has been carried out in order to identify and remove as much of the tumor as it was possible. The operation was successful yet the doctors had not been able to remove the whole malignancy as it had already spread into the deepest parts of the brain.
The prognosis is not optimistic. The tumor is slowly killing the brain and without any treatment my father would presumably only live for a dozen, give or take, of months.
Oncologists are hoping that chemiotherapy will cease the tumor from spreading. However, this kind of treatment bears great risks. We are doing our best to prepare my father to withstand the devastating effects. To make this happen we need a steady supply of specialised drugs, a home carer and psychiatric supervision. All of this is expensive and goes beyond our budget.
If by any chance chemo fails we will resort to searching for sophisticated treatments abroad. Again, this can be costly.
This year three people in our close family have passed away. This fact makes the situation even more difficult to handle. But we are not going to give up.
We would be grateful for your contributions. I strongly believe that together we can put up a fight against the glioma.
Thank you. Sincerely.
