Help Displaced Families in Lebanon – Support Emergency Relie

Description

Supporting families displaced by the escalating conflict

Lebanon is once again facing a period of rising tension and humanitarian crisis.

The recent escalation of conflict in the region, affecting southern Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley, has already resulted in dozens of deaths, hundreds of injuries, and more than 350,000 people internally displaced.

Within hours, families were forced to flee their homes. Daily life was abruptly interrupted, schools closed, and thousands of people left behind their belongings, documents, and memories — carrying only what they could manage while trying to ensure the safety of their loved ones.

Adding to the urgency of the situation, winter temperatures in Lebanon drop significantly at night, creating dangerous conditions for families now living in temporary shelters without adequate heating or resources.

Today, the majority of those displaced are women, children, and elderly people, the most vulnerable groups in situations of forced displacement.

Our Humanitarian Response

The Maronite Missionary Foundation in Poland is mobilizing support to assist families affected by the ongoing crisis in Lebanon.

Through a network of trusted humanitarian partners and local organizations in Lebanon, the Foundation helps coordinate emergency relief efforts and deliver essential assistance directly to displaced families.

Our partners on the ground are currently supporting emergency shelters hosting displaced families, providing:

  • Safe temporary accommodation
  • Daily meals and food assistance
  • Distribution of essential supplies
  • Basic humanitarian support for vulnerable individuals

Most of those receiving assistance are women, children, and elderly people who were forced to leave their homes with little or no preparation.

Urgent Needs

To continue supporting displaced families, several essential items are urgently needed:

  • Drinking water
  • Blankets and mattresses
  • Warm winter clothing
  • Hygiene kits, including women’s hygiene products
  • School supplies to help children maintain stability and routine

In situations of large-scale displacement, humanitarian response is not only about material aid. It is also about preserving dignity, safety, and a sense of stability in times of uncertainty.

Why Your Support Matters

In every conflict, civilians are the first and most affected.

The first weeks after displacement are critical to prevent:

  • exposure to cold temperatures
  • the spread of diseases
  • food insecurity
  • the breakdown of basic living conditions

Timely humanitarian assistance helps stabilize communities and protects vulnerable families from further suffering.
