Dear friends,
The team from the tent at the Ukrainian Consulate in Warsaw continues to help.
There are more and more people waiting in line at the Consulate. Especially during snow, wind, frost, guests gratefully take advantage of the possibility of sheltering in a tent, warming up with a hot drink and eating a snack or a dish.
The tent works thanks to volunteers and donors who bring the necessary products and make donations for the collection intended for the purchase of hot lunches.
More information on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/pomocprzykonsulacieukrainy
Your donations in coming weeks will be used for the purchase of the necessary products.
Thank you for help!
Monika from Sky And Sunflower Mission

Woloska 7
Woloska 7 is a 7-floor office building converted into a temporary accommodation for refugees who had to flee Ukraine due to the Russian invasion which started on February 24, 2022. The shelter is well-managed and primarily helps women and children establish themselves in Poland, send their children to school, and find good jobs. It is one of many of such shelters in Warsaw.
A maximum of 700 people can stay in Woloska 7. The hostel operates in a rotational system: travel-weary refugees are given a roof over their heads and a much-needed chance to rest physically and mentally. While some guests have extended stays, others soon move out to a rented flat or travel elsewhere in Poland or to other EU countries, seeking stability and a more prosperous life.
The Woloska 7 shelter is a subsidiary of one of the offices at the Warsaw City Hall, which pays only for certain basic needs such as the catering of regular meals. Therefore, the shelter is constantly looking for donors who will fill the shortages of bedding, hygiene products, office supplies, clothing (underwear, socks, shoes), etc.

Support Tent at the Consulate of Ukraine
This action was started by concerned neighbors living near the Ukrainian consulate in Warsaw. On the day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 and onward, these neighbors saw refugees waiting in line - mostly mothers with young children. They had been standing there in the cold since early dawn to have a good place in the line.
Many of the refugees, having never left Ukraine before, do not have international documents. At the consulate, they hope to receive the documents required to obtain refugee rights in Poland. Those who want to go to other countries need an international passport for themselves and their children.
The tent is the only shelter near the consulate offering protection from rain and sun. In addition, the volunteers working there share drinks, fruit, snacks, and hot meals to people in line.
The team which operates the tent is not an official organization but rather a group of compassionate people from the neighborhood who have organized themselves through Facebook. There is currently no organization that raises funds for this purpose. The tent operates solely through items brought in by donors.

Schronisko „Woloska 7” podlega jednemu z biur Urzędu m.st. Warszawy.

Namiot wsparcia w Konsulacie Ukrainy
Akcję rozpoczęli sąsiedzi mieszkający w pobliżu ukraińskiego konsulatu w Warszawie. Przechodząc tam, jednego z pierwszych dni rosyjskiej inwazji na Ukrainę 24 lutego 2022 r., ujrzeli ludzi czekających w kolejce – głównie matki z małymi dziećmi.
Wielu uchodźców nigdy wcześniej nie opuściło Ukrainy i nie posiada dokumentów międzynarodowych. W konsulacie otrzymają dokumenty wymagane do uzyskania praw uchodźcy w Polsce.
