studia w Polsce. W górach Haiti, w miejscowości Cazale, od kilku lat działa szkoła

polonijna Repairer of the breaches, prowadząca regularne zajęcia z języka

polskiego i kultury polskiej online z Polski przy współpracy z ORPEG.

W tym roku pierwsza klasa kończy szkołę średnią. Ośmioro z nich zostało przez

szkołę wytypowanych do rozpoczęcia rocznego kursu przygotowawczego przed

studiami w Polsce. Zbieramy środki na opłacenie tego kursu, przelot i utrzymanie.

Haiti znajduje się dziś w stanie głębokiego kryzysu humanitarnego i bezpieczeństwa.

W wielu regionach normalna edukacja praktycznie przestała funkcjonować, a młodzi

ludzie często nie mają realnych perspektyw dalszego rozwoju. Dzięki tym studiom

będą mogli zmieniać rzeczywistość.

Dlaczego właśnie Cazale?

Historia Małej Polski - Cazale zaczyna się ponad 200 lat temu. W latach 1802–1803

Napoleon Bonaparte wysłał na Haiti polskie Legiony walczące w armii francuskiej. Ich

zadaniem było stłumienie powstania niewolników walczących o wolność i

niepodległość Haiti. Na miejscu wielu polskich żołnierzy zobaczyło brutalność

francuskiej armii wobec miejscowej ludności i zaczęło utożsamiać walkę

Haitańczyków z własną walką o wolność. Część legionistów odmówiła wykonywania

rozkazów, część przeszła na stronę powstańców. Po zwycięstwie rewolucji i

uzyskaniu przez Haiti niepodległości część Polaków z konieczności pozostała na

wyspie, zakładając rodziny i tworząc lokalne społeczności. Nowo powstały rząd

haitański im to umożliwił. Jednym z takich miejsc jest właśnie Cazale.

Do dziś mieszkańcy Cazale pamiętają o swoich polskich korzeniach. Dzieci uczą się

języka polskiego, śpiewają polskie piosenki i uczestniczą w zajęciach prowadzonych

zdalnie przez nauczycieli z Polski. W miejscowości działa szkoła Repairer of the

Breaches / Réparateur des Brèches, współpracująca z ORPEG - Ośrodkiem

Rozwoju Polskiej Edukacji za Granicą. Szkoła została oficjalnie wpisana do bazy

szkół polonijnych ORPEG i od czterech lat prowadzi online regularne zajęcia z języka

polskiego i kultury polskiej.

Polska szkoła w Cazale

Od 2015 roku grupa wolontariuszy z Polski wspiera szkołę i lokalną społeczność w

Cazale. W szkole odbywają się:

• lekcje historii i kultury polskiej,

• warsztaty muzyczne i audiowizualne, (YouTube: cazale99)

• regularne spotkania online z nauczycielami Polski.

Mimo bardzo trudnej sytuacji na Haiti przez ostatnie lata udało się utrzymać

regularną edukację i przygotować uczniów do egzaminów maturalnych.

W ramach współpracy, m.in.:

• przekazano sprzęt audiowizualny i komputerowy,

• utworzono szkolną telewizję CazaleTVPologne, (YouTube: CTVP)

• zapewniono szkole dostęp do energii elektrycznej dzięki instalacji fotowoltaicznej,

• uruchomiono Internet satelitarny umożliwiający regularne lekcje online z Polską.

To nie jest jednorazowa akcja. To efekt wielu lat pracy nauczycieli,

wolontariuszy i samych uczniów.

Na co dokładnie zbieramy?

Zebrane środki przeznaczymy na wsparcie ośmiorga maturzystów rozpoczynających

kurs przygotowawczy przed studiami w Polsce (Uniwersytet Łódzki). Szacunkowy

koszt wsparcia jednego studenta obejmuje:

• kurs przygotowawczy - ok. 6 400 zł (50% całkowitej ceny)

• przelot Haiti–Polska - ok. 7 000 (tam i z powrotem, wymóg konieczny)

• legalizację pobytu i dokumenty - ok. 950 zł,

• zakwaterowanie i utrzymanie w pierwszym roku nauki - ok. 2 400 x 10 = 24 000 zł,

• podstawowe wyposażenie potrzebne do rozpoczęcia nauki - ok. 1 000 zł.

• Razem : 39 350 zł

Łączny roczny koszt wsparcia ośmiorga maturzystów wynosi około 314 800 zł.

Koszt kursu przygotowawczego udało się ograniczyć dzięki partnerowi w Polsce o

50%, ale bez dodatkowego wsparcia finansowego wyjazd studentów nie będzie

możliwy. Jeśli uda nam się uzbierać więcej środków, pozostałe zostaną wykorzystane

na wsparcie maturzystów w kolejnych latach.

Dlaczego ta pomoc jest dziś tak ważna?

Po trzęsieniu ziemi i latach kryzysu Haiti pogrążyło się w chaosie politycznym i

przemocy gangów. W wielu miejscach państwo praktycznie przestało działać, a

codzienne życie i edukacja stały się bardzo trudne. Mimo tego młodzież z Cazale od

lat regularnie uczy się języka polskiego i przygotowuje do dalszej edukacji. Ci młodzi

ludzie wykonali już ogromną pracę. Teraz potrzebują szansy, żeby zrobić następny

krok.

Każda wpłata przybliża tych uczniów do rozpoczęcia nauki w Polsce. Możesz także

Help Eight Students from Haiti's “Little Poland” Begin Their Studies in Poland

Support Scholarships for Young People from Cazale, Haiti

Eight young people from the unique Polish-Haitian community of Cazale, Haiti, have

earned the opportunity to continue their education in Poland. They now need our help

to make that dream a reality.

For several years, students in Cazale have been studying Polish language and

culture through the Repairer of the Breaches School, a Polish diaspora school that

works in partnership with the Centre for the Development of Polish Education

Abroad (ORPEG). Through regular online classes taught from Poland, these

students have developed a strong connection to their Polish heritage while pursuing

their education under extremely challenging circumstances.

This year marks an important milestone: the school's first graduating class is

completing secondary education. Eight graduates have been selected to attend a

one-year university preparatory programme in Poland before beginning their degree

studies.

We are raising funds to cover the cost of the preparatory course, travel expenses,

legal documentation, accommodation, and basic living costs during their first year.

Today, Haiti is facing one of the most severe humanitarian and security crises in its

history. In many parts of the country, normal education has been severely disrupted,

and opportunities for young people are extremely limited. These students have

worked hard for years to reach this point. Now they need the chance to take the next

step.

Why Cazale?

Cazale, often known as “Little Poland” (Lapoloy), is home to one of the world's

most remarkable Polish diaspora communities.

Its story dates back more than 200 years. During the Haitian Revolution of

1802–1803, Polish soldiers serving in Napoleon Bonaparte's army were sent to Haiti

to suppress the uprising of enslaved people fighting for freedom and independence.

Many of these soldiers were deeply disturbed by the treatment of the Haitian

population and came to see parallels between Haiti's struggle for freedom and

Poland's own fight for independence.

Some refused to follow orders, while others joined the Haitian revolutionaries. After

Haiti gained independence, a number of Poles remained on the island, established

families, and became part of local communities. The newly independent Haitian

government welcomed them and granted them citizenship.

Cazale is one of the communities that grew from this unique chapter in history.

Today, the people of Cazale still cherish their Polish heritage. Children learn Polish,

sing Polish songs, and participate in classes taught remotely by teachers in Poland.

The local Repairer of the Breaches / Réparateur des Brèches School has been

officially recognised by ORPEG and has provided regular online instruction in Polish

language and culture for the past four years.

The Polish School in Cazale

Since 2015, a dedicated group of volunteers from Poland has supported both the

school and the wider community in Cazale.

Students participate in:

 Polish language classes

 Lessons on Polish history and culture

 Music and audiovisual workshops

 Regular online meetings with teachers from Poland

Despite the difficult conditions in Haiti, the school has successfully maintained

continuous education and prepared students for their secondary-school graduation

examinations.

Over the years, the project has achieved a great deal through the support of

volunteers and partners, including:

 Donating computers and audiovisual equipment

 Creating the school television channel CazaleTVPologne

 Providing reliable electricity through a solar-power installation

 Establishing satellite internet access, enabling regular online lessons with

Poland

This is not a one-off project. It is the result of many years of commitment, partnership,

and hard work by teachers, volunteers, parents, and students.

What Will the Funds Be Used For?

The funds raised will support eight graduates who are beginning a preparatory

programme before starting university studies in Poland, at the University of Łódź.

The cost of the preparatory programme has already been reduced by 50% thanks to

a partner institution in Poland. However, without additional financial support, these

students will not be able to travel to Poland and begin their studies.

support future graduates from Cazale pursuing higher education opportunities.
