Mam na imię Ida, w listopadzie skończę 16 lat. Alakina jest moją najlepszą przyjaciółką, wręcz siostrą. Ma 17 lat, we wrześniu rozpocznie naukę w 3 klasie liceum na kierunku A-levels. Wspaniale gra na pianinie. Alakina jest najbardziej ambitną, wrażliwą i troskliwą osobą, jaką znam. Ma ogromne serce. No i jest piękna. Poznałyśmy się kilka lat temu dzięki naszym mamom i od tamtej pory jesteśmy nierozłączne.  Na początku sierpnia pojechałyśmy na wspólne wakacje nad morze, miałyśmy spacerować po plaży, siedzieć w kawiarniach, zaglądać do second handów i rozmawiać, rozmawiać, rozmawiać. Jednak los miał dla nas inne plany. Pod wieczór 11 sierpnia Alakina potknęła się, spadła z klifu i uderzyła głową o beton. Trafiła do szpitala, gdzie dowiedziałyśmy się, że złamała obojczyk i czaszkę w kilku miejscach. Lekarze mówią, że miała ogromne szczęście, bo nie straciła przytomności. Prawie dwa tygodnie spędziła na oddziale chirurgicznym w Wejherowie. Nie wolno jej ruszać głową, nie może wstawać nawet do łazienki, ma unieruchomione ramię, więc ją karmię i myję. Kilka dni temu wróciła do domu, gdzie czekało na nią pięcioro młodszego rodzeństwa i jej samotna mama, która sama zaczyna niebawem leczenie nowo wykrytego nowotworu. Czaszka zrasta się bardzo powoli, Alakinę czeka długa i żmudna rehabilitacja neurologiczna. Jej mama nie ma funduszy na rehabilitację. Zarówno ojciec Alakiny, jak i ojciec młodszego rodzeństwa od lat zalegają z alimentami, nie są i nie będą dla niej wsparciem. 

Ala marzy o

wielu rzeczach, między innymi o posiadaniu starego zamku, w którym zamieszka

jej rodzina i przyjaciele. Chce być niezależna. Ale teraz marzy o tym, żeby po

prostu wstać z łóżka i wreszcie napić się kawy. Bardzo ją kocham i chcę, żeby

jak najszybciej przestała cierpieć.

My name is Ida, and I will turn 16 in November. Alakina

is my best friend, more like a sister to me. She is 17 and will begin her

third year of high school in September, studying A-levels. She plays the piano

beautifully. Alakina is the most ambitious, sensitive, and caring

person I know. She has a huge heart. We met a few years ago thanks to our

mothers, and since then we’ve been inseparable.

At the beginning of August, we went on holiday

together to the Polish Sea Cost. We planned to walk along the beach, sit in

cafés, browse second-hand shops, and talk, talk, talk. But

fate had other plans for us. On the evening of August 11th, Alakina tripped,

fell off a cliff, and hit her head on concrete. She was taken to the hospital,

where we learned that she had broken her collarbone and fractured her

skull in several places. The doctors said she was very lucky

because she did not lose consciousness. She spent almost two weeks in the

surgical ward in Wejherowo. She is not allowed to move her head, she cannot

even get up to go to the bathroom, and with her arm immobilized, I feed and

wash her.

A few days ago, she returned home, where five younger

siblings and her single mother were waiting for her. Sadly, her mother will

soon begin treatment for a newly diagnosed cancer. Alakina’s

skull is healing very slowly, long and tedious neurological rehabilitation

awaits. Her mother cannot afford the rehabilitation. Both

Alakina’s father and the father of her younger siblings have been behind on

child support for years and are not, and will not be, a source of support.

Ala dreams of many things, including one day owning an

old castle where her family and friends could live together. She wants to be

independent. But right now, her only dream is simply to get out of bed and

finally have a cup of coffee. I love her very much and want her to

stop suffering as soon as possible.
