Akademia Teatralna im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza w Warszawie

Akademia Teatralna im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza w Warszawie to najstarsza uczelnia teatralna w Polsce, a przy tym jedyna zapewniająca edukację teatralną zarówno w wymiarze praktycznym, jak i teoretycznym. Powstała w 1932 roku jako Państwowy Instytut Sztuki Teatralnej. Jego pierwszym dyrektorem i kierownikiem Wydziału Sztuki Aktorskiej był Aleksander Zelwerowicz. W roku 1996 na mocy ustawy Sejmu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej uczelnia otrzymała nazwę i status Akademii a także imię Aleksandra Zelwerowicza. Dziś uczelnia prowadzi cztery kierunki: Aktorstwo, Reżyserię, Wiedzę o Teatrze oraz Technologię Teatru Lalek. Studenci wszystkich kierunków mają możliwość prowadzenia i realizowania wspólnych zajęć praktycznych i projektów artystycznych. Program nauczania na kierunkach ulega stałym przekształceniom, dając absolwentom umiejętności potrzebne w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości artystycznej, w nowych mediach. Studenci mają możliwość zaprezentowania wyników swojej pracy na scenie Teatru Collegium Nobilium w Warszawie lub w Teatrze Szkolnym im. J. Wilkowskiego w Białymstoku. Rektorem Akademii Teatralnej jest prof. dr hab. Wojciech Malajkat.
