Od lata 1942 r. do 3 listopada 1943 r. istniał w Trzebini niemiecki nazistowski obóz pracy przymusowej dla Żydów. Sprowadzono do niego ok. 600-800 Żydów z całej Europy. Jeden z mieszkańców Trzebini, zmuszony do wywożenia zwłok na lokalny cmentarz żydowski, szacował, że pochowano tam ok. 150 ciał więźniów, zmarłych z wycieńczenia nieludzką pracą, głodem, na skutek tortur lub zastrzelonych. Ocalali więźniowie szacowali ilość ofiar na więcej.

Po likwidacji obozu - 3 listopada 1943 r. - pozostali przy życiu więźniowie zostali wywiezieni do KL Auschwitz-Birkenau, gdzie zdecydowana większość z nich zginęła.

Na terenie, gdzie obóz się znajdował, nie ma żadnego oznaczenia, informacji o jego istnieniu. Dlatego staramy się o pozyskanie grantu m.in. na wykonanie i postawienie tam tablicy informacyjnej. Niniejsza zbiórka zostanie przeznaczona na wymagany wkład własny finansowy.

Posiadamy już zgodę właścicieli terenu, gdzie miałaby stanąć tablica, na jej montaż.

Poza popularyzacją wiedzy nt. tego obozu, zależy nam na upamiętnieniu jego ofiar.

W przypadku nieotrzymania grantu na realizację całego projektu, który obejmuje również działania na rzecz pogłębienia wiedzy nt. obozu i jej popularyzacji, za zebrane w tej zbiórce pieniądze (o ile uda nam się zebrać min. 2 tys. zł) i tak postawimy tablicę.

From the summer of 1942 to November 3, 1943, Trzebinia was the location of a German Nazi forced labor camp for Jews. Approximately 600-800 Jews from all over Europe were brought here. One of the residents of Trzebinia, who was forced to transport the bodies to the local Jewish cemetery, estimated that around 150 bodies of prisoners were buried there; they who died from exhaustion due to inhumane labor, starvation, as a result of torture, or by being shot. Surviving prisoners estimated the number of victims to be higher.

After the camp was liquidated on November 3, 1943, the surviving prisoners were deported to KL Auschwitz-Birkenau, where the vast majority of them perished.

There are no markings or information about the camp’s existence at the site where it was located. That's why we are trying to obtain a grant in order to, among other actions, make and install an information board there. The money collected in this fundraiser will be used for the required financial contribution.

We already have the consent of the landowners where the sign would be erected to install it.

In addition to popularizing knowledge about this camp, we also aim to commemorate its victims.

If we don't receive a grant to implement the entire project, which includes activities to expand knowledge about the camp and popularize it, we will still put up a plaque with the money from this fundraiser (provided we manage to raise at least 2,000 PLN).
