Ladies and Gentlemen,
We would like to share with you exciting news, the Podlaskie Project has been invited to digitize another set of vital records registers! By doing that, it will be ensured that these century-old registers will not be used directly and ensure their preservation for future. At the same time, such digitization will allow many volunteers to start to index these records.
We also would like to use this equipment to continue the digitization of Old Polish Court registers held in the Central Archive of Historial Records, especially since this archive recently ceased their digitization for an undetermined period of time. To be able to successfully achieve above aims, we need to purchase the equipment for our volunteer. Until now they were using their own private equipment and unfortunately after so many years of use and constant repair, this equipment fails now to continue to function. From your kind donations, we will be able to purchase medium range used Canon cameras with used lenses and additional supporting equipment such as LED ring lights, memory cards, spare camera batteries. remotes, etc. Here below you can find a list of needed equipment:
2 x Canon 750d cameras (used) - price around 1500 PLN each
2 x Canon EF 17-40/4L USM lens (used) - around1400 PLN each
2 x Sandisk SDHC 64GB memory card (new) - around 50 PLN each
2 x Canon LP-E17 batteries (new) - around 45 PLN each.
2 x LED ring light (new) - around 200 PLN each
2 x remotes (used) - around 50 PLN each
1 x external hard drive USB 3.0 4TB (new) - around 400 PLN each
Total for all the above is estimated at 6.890 PLN. / 1.832 USD
Remaining equipment needed for digitization such as laptops, tripods, copy stands, chargers, software, etc, together with extensive experience, we already have. I would like to underline, that our activities are pro bono and are not commercial, all that we do is financed from donations and we do not receive any subvention from government or other financial institutions. Please support us, so we can not only preserve those old registers but also provide this unique resources for your research
