Alex is a cheerful 7-year old boy, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and athetosis (involuntary movements). Alex is not able to walk and talk, but he is able to understand others. Each day he is forced to do extremely difficult work in order to progress with his development. Things that develop so easily and naturally for other kids, are huge challenges for our little boy. Despite being disabled, Alex is a very happy and unique boy. He also shows big potential for development and we, as his parents, would like to do everything we can to help him with this. For Alex to become more independent and more capable in every day life he needs constant rehabilitation. He is under the daily care of physiotherapists, a neurologist, psychologist and a speech therapist. Unfortunately the monthly expenses for Alex’s therapy are a huge part of the family's budget. Every day we are fighting for a better life for our child. The therapy is very difficult work not only for Alex, but also for us. Fortunately we can see an improvement in Alex’s condition, and that gives us the power to work even harder. Any help we can receive from others is much appreciated, as it brings us closer to fulfil our dream. And we have only one dream – that our son can live a “normal” life, just as other children do.
