Organiser's profile
Sindhuja Sankaran
My journey began as a naive PhD student in the UK (Cardiff) after moving from India when I was 23 years old. I pursued my doctorate in Social Psychology. A lot has changed since then; I moved to Poland for my post-doctoral studies at Jagiellonian University, Krakow and then moved on to work on my individual research project at University of Warsaw. During this time, I saw a lot of ups and downs, with my health especially. However, the most rewarding experience for me was when I volunteered at a refugee camp in Greece called Moria in Lesbos...it was rewarding for me in that, it prompted me to share knowledge and create awareness about the inhumanity at the camp. I then established Rethinking Refugees - Knowledge and Action in July 2018. In less than a year we have managed to organise 7 awareness events and mobilize people! The movement is just beginning and I hope it continues with the generous support of YOU!
