My name is Sandra. For the past 15 years, I have served as a volunteer in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, working with children and youth. I am launching this fundraiser to renovate a youth center in the Tatra Mountains in Poland.

We aim to raise 110,000 Polish zloty ($27,400) to renovate the kitchen. The renovation of the entire building will cost more, so we are focusing on one section at a time.

This youth center will not only serve Pathfinders and children's programs but also families, women's gatherings, and groups from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. It will be a hub for group activities and individual retreats, allowing everyone to recharge their spiritual batteries.

We also plan to use this center for outreach. For local residents, we envision workshops, classes, and midweek Gospel services.

My journey to faith began at a youth gathering, so this project has sentimental value to me. There are countless young people like me, yearning for their moment to connect with God in a nurturing environment.

Our story has not been without hardships. After losing our 2.5-year-old son to a brain hemorrhage and then watching our camper burn down, I thought I could endure anything. Yet, God had other plans. Instead of traveling to heal our souls, He led us to the heart of the Polish Tatras—the only alpine mountains in Poland, known as the winter capital of the country—Zakopane.

Here, we found a building with ten guest rooms, a conference hall for 100 people, a dining room, and a kitchen, all with stunning views. Full of enthusiasm, we started cleaning and preparing the building, only to be told it didn't meet current regulations. This building, over 30 years old, requires significant renovation to become a safe haven for youth gatherings.

Despite our past losses, God has always provided for us. This time will be no different. We believe that with God's help, we can raise the funds needed to adapt this building and transform it into a Christian center we would like to name: Closer to Heaven.

Our dreams are within reach, but we need your help.
