Hi,My name's Jacek and I work as a residential child support worker and this is my crazy idea.
My dream is to organise a short adventure to Belfast for 3 children I work with.
Why Northern Ireland? Because I lived there for several years and I still have friends over there who will be more than happy to accommodate us all and also to provide food.
Why so far away? Because Belfast is a beautiful place full of friendly people.
There's a fantastic Titanic museum over there, the Giant’s Causeway visited by people from all around the world and many more attractions.
Also the fact that the world famous Game of Thrones was shot there and following in the footsteps of the main characters would be a breath-taking experience for the children.
Why abroad? Visiting an English speaking country will give the kids a chance to practice their language skills, which I hope they will benefit from in future.
I've calculated the cost of the trip would be around 1500 zl per child (around £308).
There's no money in the Home's budget for this sort of attractions that's why I'm asking you for help.
Hera are the details:
- 500 zl (£100 ) return plane tickets
- 500 zl local transport (trains, buses etc)
- 100 zl (£20) entry fee to the Giant’s Causeway
- 100zl entry fee to the Titanic museum
- 300 zl (£60) food, snacks.
Please, support this project. If not you - who will?
This is the only chance for these kids to take such a long trip, which who knows, may be the most important in their lives.
They'll get to know a different culture, they'll get to see a real home that is full of love.
And now please meet our heroes:
The amazing 3 siblings are residing at our home. They've been through traumatic events no child should experience but it never broke their strong characters, they are still friendly, smiling kids, not turned from adults who still have hopes for their future.
