The Home for a Stray Foundation was founded in 2016. The main focus of its members and volunteers is charitable and educational work in the care and assistance of animals that are homeless, abandoned or cruelly treated. Their mission is also to inspire a community in which the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured. In all their activities, the welfare of animals in need of help for a variety of reasons is at the forefront.

The Foundation does not carry out economic activities and relies exclusively on the support of individuals and institutions that are interested in the welfare of animals.

In the words of the Foundation's member:

"We are aware of the enormity of the homeless animal problem, the thousands of shelters and the millions of suffering creatures. We would like to help everyone, but unfortunately this is impossible. We do not make choices, we do not classify dogs into ‘adoptable’ or ‘non-adoptable’, we do not limit ourselves in any way. For us, every dog, regardless of age, appearance, breed or coat colour, is a feeling being who needs help. If we come across an old or seriously ill dog, we take them into our care, being aware that they are likely to stay with us forever."

There are currently more than 100 adorable animals in the care of the Foundation, including stray dogs, kittens and Vietnamese pigs. They specialize in helping dogs with little chance of being adopted, such as those who are blind, pawless or traumatised. Many of them stay under wings of the Foundation forever. Some healthy and younger dogs live in paid hotels, while old and ill strays have their luxurious place in the Foundation.
