PECHOWY OBIEKTTen obiekt nie ma szczęścia, chociaż jego historia zaczęła się naprawdę obiecująco. W 1909 roku wybitny opolski fotograf Max Glauer został inicjatorem zbudowania siedziby Towarzystwa Łyżwiarskiego. Nie odbyłoby się to bez udziału mieszkańców Opola. W zasadzie jest to chyba pierwsza zarejestrowana akcja crowdfoundingowa (finansowanie społecznościowe) w historii miasta. Tak, mieszkańcy zebrali aż 4100 marek. Ciężko jednoznacznie stwierdzić jaka była wartość nabywcza tej sumy. W zaborze pruskim robotnik zarabiał 1-3 marki dziennie. Z tego może wynikać, że mieszkańcy na budowę Domku Lodowego przeznaczyli ok. 100 000 do 150 000 zł, a może i więcej.Tak duża suma, jak na tamte czasy, robi wrażenie. Domek Lodowy i okolice tętniły życiem aż do roku 1945. Prawdziwym cudem było to, że budynek przetrwał wojnę. Niestety Staw Zamkowy został przebudowany na fontannę, a dawna świetność lodowiska, które mieściło się na stawie, odeszła w zapomnienie. Po wojnie obiekt trafił w ręce Polskiego Towarzystwa Turystyczno-Krajoznawczego. Mieściło się w nim. m.in schronisko, kawiarnia oraz restauracja.Domek poważnie ucierpiał podczas powodzi w 1997 roku. Z tego powodu zakończyła swoją działalność mieszcząca się w nim kawiarnia “Piastowska”. Obiekt został odrestaurowany, a teren wokół niego zrewitalizowany. Obecnie na Stawku zainstalowana została instalacja multimedialna. Ostatni akt pechowej historii odbył się całkiem niedawno, kiedy to zakończyła swoją działalność restauracja “Piramida”. Budynek został wystawiony na sprzedaż przez PTTK. Czy los tego obiektu może się jeszcze odmienić? Szkoda by było gdyby tak piękny budynek, zbudowany w stylu łużyckim, miałby niszczeć lub miałby w nim powstać kolejny fast-food. Takie miejsce powinno żyć, być pełne rekreacji i turystyki. Nie można zapomnieć, że obiekt objęty jest ochroną konserwatorską i wpisany na wojewódzką listę zabytków.

ZBIÓRKACo można z tym wszystkim zrobić? Żeby przywrócić dawny blask wystarczy sięgnąć do źródeł i jak Max Glauer znaleźć fundusze na wykupienie tego budynku z rąk PTTK. To nie takie proste, bo Domek Lodowy wyceniony jest na 2,5 mln zł! To strasznie dużo pieniędzy. Maxowi udało się przekonać mieszkańców Oppeln, że warto uzbierać fundusze na budowę Domku Lodowego, razem z Fundacją Czas Podróżników też mam taki zamiar.Mam świadomość, że zebranie takich sum będzie trudne, tym bardziej, że próbowaliśmy już ratować kamienicę przy ulicy Damrota. Akcja nie zakończyła się sukcesem, ale miasto Opole na czele z prezydentem zdobyło fundusze, a kamienica zostanie odremontowana i działać w niej będzie Centrum Dialogu Obywatelskiego oraz będzie miejscem dla organizacji pozarządowych. Przy poprzedniej naszej akcji oprócz horrendalnej sumy do zebrania barierą był zagraniczny portal, tym razem naszą akcję zamierzamy prowadzić na portalu zrzutka.pl. Czas zbiórki będzie dłuższy, a my nie mamy zamiaru się łatwo poddawać. Jak mamy zamiar zagospodarować ten obiekt? Na dole chcemy urządzić restaurację z dobrą kuchnią, także od czasu do czasu ze specjałami kuchni świata. Na dole mają również odbywać się spotkania, koncerty itp. Generalnie to miejsce ma żyć. Mała biblioteka, centrum map, księgarnia, biuro podróży. Przede wszystkim Pracownia Historii i Genealogii. Gdzie każdy entuzjasta mógłby zgłębiać historię, genealogię oraz uzyskałby dostęp do wielu ciekawych baz danych.

CO DALEJ?Domek Lodowy ma stać się Centrum Historii i Turystyki oraz ważnym miejscem na mapie Opola. Brzmi cudownie, prawda? To co próbujemy zrealizować marzenia czy czekamy, aż powstanie tam kolejny fast-food? Gdyby nie udało się zdobyć wymaganej kwoty wszystkie środki zostaną przekazane na renowację opolskich zabytków.
