Knowing from personal experience how difficult it is when our parent falls ill and our world is falling apart at one moment, I want to help my friend, Aleksander. We went to school together, and our mothers lay in the same delivery room together. Although my mother is no longer with me, I believe she would also like to help in this difficult situation.

Sometimes in human life there comes a moment when we face a wall. So high and smooth that it seems insurmountable. This moment for me (and my family members) usually lasted a while because we are optimists by nature. Everything is possible. This time the wall we hit is even higher and even smoother. There is nothing to get hung up on…

On March 15, 2024, my father Henryk had a massive cerebral hemorrhage. He received quick help and spent almost 4 weeks in the hospital. The doctors did everything they could and the father, with all the documents, was sent for professional rehabilitation. His condition will deteriorate without proper care because he is immobilized by paralysis of the right part of his body and contact with the world is hampered by deep aphasia (communication problem). For this reason, he didn’t qualify for treatments to save what was left of his health and returned home unexpectedly. To make matters worse, this is not the first seriously ill person in the family because for almost 40 years we have been taking care of my brother, Jacek, who requires care at the level of a three-year-old child. We don’t have medical equipment, conditions or knowledge to carry out rehabilitation on our own. Without professional treatments, the father's condition is getting worse. The deadlines for determining the disability group and National Health Fund treatment are incredibly long, and every day is worth its weight in gold.

The only option at the moment is a professional rehabilitation center and three months of intensive therapy. After such help, there is a chance for a happy autumn of life and the joy of my father's well-deserved retirement.

We will all be endlessly grateful to anyone who wants to help in even the smallest way.
