Ta zbiórka jest na wagę życia! Przeznaczamy ją na ratowanie, leczenie i rehabilitację biebrzańskich zwierząt!

Bez naszego wsparcia zginie wiele bezbronnych zwierząt. Wspólnie możemy je uratować, a każde z nich w przyszłości pomoże odbudować ekosystem Biebrzańskiego Parku Narodowego, który teraz jest dotknięty ogromnym pożarem!

Powierzchnia pogorzeliska sięga ponad 6 tys. hektarów. Płonie las, bagienne łąki, torfowiska i trzcinowiska, a w nich zwierzęta, płazy, gady, owady, ptaki... . W tej chwili pożar jest widoczny z satelity, a dym sięga centralnej Polski. Klęskę można przyrównać do pożarów australijskiego buszu.

Pomóżmy bezbronnym zwierzętom, które ucierpiały w pożarze. Trzeba to zrobić szybko, gdyż pogorzelisko jest penetrowane przez drapieżne ptaki, lisy i wilki.

Każda wpłata dokonana na rzecz Ośrodka Rehabilitacji Zwierząt w Grzędach przy Biebrzańskim Parku Narodowym jest pomocą ratującą życie zwierząt.

Jako Politechnika Białostocka wraz z Instytutem Nauk Leśnych na wydziale Budownictwa i Nauk o Środowisku PB, czujemy moralny obowiązek ratowania bezcennych skarbów natury. Mamy świadomość, że pożar to niszczycielski żywioł, który może spowodować nieodwracalne straty w ekosystemie, jednak w pierwszej kolejności trzeba ratować zwierzęta i na ile to tylko możliwe, chronić je przed olbrzymim cierpieniem.

Szanowni Państwo,

zwracam się z prośbą do pracowników, studentów i absolwentów Politechniki Białostockiej i wszystkich ludzi dobrej woli! Pomóżmy zwierzętom w Biebrzańskim Parku Narodowym. Przekażmy choćby kilka złotych na Ośrodek Rehabilitacji Zwierząt w Grzędach działający przy Biebrzańskim Parku Narodowym.

Wiem, że są inne potrzeby, musimy ratować siebie i chorych na wirusa Covid 19. Świat walczy o przetrwanie. Ale właśnie dlatego ta pomoc jest tak potrzebna. Zwierzęta są bezbronne! Nie będą nas prosiły, ani skarżyły się. Giną w ciszy, w płomieniach na skalę masową. Tereny wypalone praktycznie całkowicie pozbawione są owadów, płazów, gadów i drobnych zwierząt trzcinowych. Ptaki tracą już złożone lęgi, a często pozostając, jak kapitan na okręcie do ostatniej chwili, płoną wraz z gniazdami. Sarny, jelenie i łosie są w zawansowanej ciąży. Dziki już prowadzą swoje prosiaki. Mają problemy z przemieszczaniem się i ukryciem przed drapieżnikami. Wiele z tych zwierząt jest okaleczonych i poparzonych. Stanowią łatwy cel dla drapieżników, które aktualnie mają zastawiony stół. Niestety za miesiąc będą głodować.

Świat się globalizuje. Globalizuje się handel, ale i problemy. Covid 19 i ASF (afrykański pomór świń) są tego namacalnym dowodem. W roku 2018 płonęły lasy w Grecji, na przełomie 2019/2020 roku płonął busz w Australii. Teraz płonie Biebrzański Park Narodowy. Jesteśmy cząstką ziemi, podobnie jak te zwierzęta. Ich życie jest równie cenne. Pomóżmy chociaż w ten symboliczny sposób im przetrwać. Potrzeby Ośrodka Rehabilitacji Zwierząt w Grzędach po pożarze będą olbrzymie, a źródła pomocy bardzo ograniczone.

Wiem, że pożar też jest procesem naturalnym. Na nowo kształtuje ekosystem. Za miesiąc pewnie o nim zapomnimy i nie dostrzeżemy po nim pozostałości. No może tylko brzęczenie owadów będzie mniejsze i klangor żurawi rzadszy. Na niebie będzie mniej ptaków, gniazda puste, a na ścieżce nie spotkamy jeża. Niech ten jeż będzie symbolem naszej pomocy. Adoptujmy jeżyka z Biebrzańskiego Parku Narodowego!

Bagna biebrzańskie są w żałobie. Nie zostawiajmy okaleczonych żywych istot w potrzebie!

Let’s help animals affected by enormous fire – Bialystok University of Technology supports Polish Biebrza National Park

Your donation is literally a matter of life or death! We’ll use it to rescue, treat and rehabilitate animals from Biebrza National Park!

Without our support, many defenceless animals will die. Together we can save them, and each of these saved animals will help to rebuild the ecosystem of Biebrza National Park in northeastern Poland, now affected by a devastating fire.

The burnt area covers nearly 8 thousand hectares (i.e. 80 km2 or over 30 mi2). Numerous mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insects and birds are suffering in blazes in the burning forests, marshy meadows, peatbogs and reeds... The fire can now be seen from space, and the smoke reaches central Poland. This disaster can be compared to bushfires in Australia.

Let's help the poor animals that have suffered in the fire while they are still alive. We need to do this very quickly as the razed area is visited by predators such as birds, foxes and wolves, and the fire is spreading at up to 20-30 km/h (approx. 12-18.5 mph).

Each donation to the Animal Rehabilitation Centre of Biebrza National Park in Grzedy counts and helps to save animals’ lives.

As Bialystok University of Technology with its Institute of Forestry at the Faculty of Science and Environmental Sciences, we feel a moral obligation to save these precious treasures of nature. We are aware that fire is a destructive element that can cause irreparable damage to the whole ecosystem, but first and foremost we must save animals and – as far as it is possible – protect them from huge suffering.

A call for action, addressed to staff, students and graduates of Bialystok University of Technology and all people of good will by Head of BUT Institute of Forestry:

Dear Sirs or Madams,

I am addressing all employees, students and graduates of Bialystok University of Technology and all people of good will: let us help animals suffering in Biebrza National Park by donating at least a small amount of money to the Animal Rehabilitation Centre of Biebrza National Park in Grzedy.

I know that there are other needs as well: we have to save ourselves and patients suffering from COVID-19. The world is now fighting for survival. But that is why our help to these poor animals is so important. Animals are vulnerable – they cannot beg for our help or complain. They are dying without words in massive numbers. The areas burned by the fire are almost completely devoid of insects, amphibians, reptiles or small reed animals. Birds are losing their eggs and newly hatched chicks, often staying – like captains on their ships – until the last moment, burning together with their nests. Female deer and elk are heavily pregnant. Wild boars already have piglets, so moving and hiding from predators is a huge problem for them. Many of these animals are hurt and badly burnt. They are easy targets for predators that now have their tables set. Unfortunately, in a month’s time they will starve, too.

The world is becoming globalised – this is true about trade but also about our problems, and both COVID-19 and ASF (African swine fever) definitely prove it. In 2018, forests were burning in Greece and at the turn of 2019/2020 there were bushfires in Australia. Now Biebrza National Park is burning. We humans are part of our planet, and so are these animals. Their lives are equally precious. Let us at least help them to survive in this symbolic way. The needs of the Animal Rehabilitation Centre of Biebrza National Park after the fire will be enormous and their sources of help – much limited.

I know that fire is at the same time a natural process, shaping the ecosystem anew. In a month’s time, we will probably forget about it and we will not see the burnt-down area. Well, maybe only the buzzing of insects will be softer and we will not hear crane birds that often. There will be fewer birds in the sky, nests will be empty and we will not meet a hedgehog on our path. Let this little hedgehog be a symbol of our help. Let us adopt the hedgehog from Biebrza National Park!

The Biebrza marshes are in mourning. Let us not leave mutilated living beings in need!
