This week I had a special request. It was about delivering a family of three to the PL/UN border in Dorohusk between Monday and Wednesday. Mother and two children at the age of 3 and 12. They live near Kyiv where it should be safe now. The Russian army was heavily damaged and retreated.
It was quite challenging for me because of the work commitments. I have decided to drive on Monday evening, after work. Stay in a hotel near the border for the night and work the day after and drive back in the next night.
Route:
The plan was for the father to drive from Ukraine and get his family from me.
Unfortunately, when we were close to the border it turned out the UN Border Control will not let him cross the border.
This is when I dig out my passport, checked it is still valid and tried to drive to Ukraine:
it turned out, that I am missing some car documents and our, Polish Border Control did not let me pass the border either.
We thought about letting them cross the border on foot but
a) there is no pedestrian border crossing in Dorohusk
b) they had a huge amount of luggage
thankfully after asking a few cars in the queue, one (bus) agreed to take them across.
On the way back:
I visited the Refugee Centre in Chełm and took a family of 4 to Warsaw. Mother and three children at the age of ~5, ~10 and ~16. There was also a dog and the eldest child was injured in the leg.
I got to my family in Gdańsk in the morning.

Opis zrzutki
W dniach 5-6 marca dołączyłem do konwoju który odebrał z punktu rejestracyjnego w Tomaszowie Lubelskim kilkoro uchodźców i przetransportował do wcześniej przygotowanych lokalizacji gdzie mogą się zatrzymać i zamieszkać. 1500 KM / 17 godzin jazdy.
Po tym co zobaczyłem zdecydowałem, że nie mogę nie zaangażować się w podobny sposób ponownie.
Jutro (10.03.2022) wyjeżdżam z powrotem w okolice granicy i zamierzam przez kilka kolejnych dni rozwozić potrzebujących, uciekających przed wojną ludzi do bezpiecznych miejsc gdzie mogą zamieszkać.
Poniższa zrzutka jest na paliwo, autostrady i podobne wydatki związane bezpośrednio z niesieniem pomocy. W ciągu najbliższych kilku dni chciałbym przejechać około 5000 KM.
Gdyby, jakimś cudem, uzbierało się więcej, zamiast mojego samochodu osobowego, wynajmę busa już na południu Polski i dalej będę poruszał się nim żeby pomóc większej ilości osób.

On March 5-6 I have joined a convoy that took families from the Polish/Ukrainian border to safe homes prepared by other volunteers. 1500 km, 17 hours on the road.
After what I saw and experienced I just can't stay at home. Tomorrow morning (10.03.2022) i am going back to the border.
I would like to spent next few days on driving people from the boarder to safe homes that other people offer all over the nearest area.
This founds rising is for the fuel, road costs and any other costs strictly connected with helping Ukrainian people that left their houses and fleet from the war. I would like to do about 5000 KM with my own car. Starting from Gdansk.
If, by any means, the limit of this found raise would be exceeded, I would borrow a bus and use that to drive people to help more.
