Mając na uwadze dalszy rozwój Leonka planujemy posłać go do przedszkola terapeutycznego.
Codzienność naszej rodziny to żmudna i wymagająca ogromnego zaangażowania walka o zdrowie Leonka.
Rodzice Leonka.
Leon is an early child born in the 30th week of the pregnancy. From the first moments of his life he has been struggling to regain his health and dexterity. The first two months Leon spent in critical condition at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. He has been through several dangerous infections, blood transfusions and has been connected to a respirator.
As a result of post birth problems Leon is handicapped and relies on special orthopedic equipment to navigate the world.
Despite his disability Leon is a very cheerful, charismatic, active child eager to explore the world around him. He loves spending time in the fresh air but also lets his artistic side show with painting and drawing. Leon shows great promise and potential when it comes to the intellectual side of his development. The assessment of the Specialist Child Psychological Clinic judges him to be at the same level as his peers. Having this in mind we are planning to enroll him in a therapeutic kindergarten.
To guarantee the successful rehabilitation of Leon we need to purchase a special AFO orthosis with a flexible ankle. This equipment would allow the child to make significant progress in terms of mobility development. Using such orthosis is beneficial for overall mobility and proper movement sequence while walking. It minimises the risks of hip dislocation which is common to children with lower extremity mobility issues.
Getting Leon “back on his feet” is a huge chance not only for allowing him to walk unassisted but for allowing him to take the world in in full, exploring both the environment as well as socialising with his peers. We hope that this will keep Leon from being outcast, which so often happens to children with disabilities.
The day to day of our family is a constant, excruciating struggle for Leon’s health. The purchase of the orthosis is a very costly endeavour. Unfortunately the equipment we currently have access to is not refunded by the government. Therefore we turn to you, people of good heart, who would be willing to help us in financing the rehabilitation of Leon with donations. Help us to secure a happy childhood and life beyond for our son.
We are deeply thankful for all the support that we have received thus far. God bless you!
