Noble Gift

Noble Gift is one of the largest social programs in Poland. Since 2001, thanks to the involvement of Volunteers and Donors, thousands of Families in need receive wise, tailored help every year.

This year we will be able to support 2 families in need:

1. The first family in need consists of: Anna (Mother, 39), Pawel (Husband, 43), Piotr (Son, 13), and Ignacy (Son, 7). Three members of the family suffer from diseases/illnesses. The father, Pawel, is suffering from cancer and Pether’s disease. Piotr, the oldest son, suffers from pituitary-hypothalamic injury. Ignacy, the youngest, suffers from intellectual disability and epilepsy. Anna, wife and mother, tackles on the job of taking care of all three of them without assistance. Despite all the hardship, Anna and Pawel do their best to provide the best living conditions for their sons to be happy and feel the warmth of a loving family. In total, the family’s income is 6870zl. However, a huge majority of the income is consumed just on medicine, school, and lunches for the older son. After these deductions, the family is left with only 798zl per person per month.

Three key Family Needs

1.Beds 180x60

• Beds are important to the family, especially the children as they currently sleep on mattresses that are simply laid on the floor. These are not comfortable conditions we would want any child with an illness having to live through.

2.Small desk (50cmx70cm)

• There is only one desk for two children in the house. An extra desk is needed to help with school related materials and drawings. Anna emphasizes that being able to just have a desk so her son can draw would be very helpful as she believes drawing has helped her son develop immensely. 

3.Clothes

• As we all know, winter is coming. Winter jackets are very expensive. This whole family does not have the sufficient funds to keep warm. The family would be grateful to receive jackets, warm hats, gloves, and scarves to get them through the winter. 

2. Mr. Dariusz (49) lives alone and struggles to get around in a wheelchair. A sitter visits him five days a week for 2 hours. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and it completely changed his life. Just shortly after getting his diagnosis, he was told he would need to use a wheelchair forever. Before this disorder, he happily worked as a driver for 25 years. Mr. Dariusz soon lost the only means of income he had due to this disorder. His monthly income which is income-related sickness compensation is 1200pln. After deducting all costs in the amount of 785pln, gives him 435pln a month to live on.

1. Cleaning products - thanks to buying them Mr Dariusz will be able to save money for treatment and medicines

2. Food- thanks to receiving food - he won't need to ask other people to buy food for him and will allow to save money

3. Bedding and blankets - His current bedding and blanket are old and damaged
