Jestem absolwentką Warszawskiej Szkoły Filmowej. Chciałabym pokazać Wam opowieść, która mnie inspiruje, zachwyca i motywuje do działania. 

Planuję stworzyć film dokumentalny, którego bohaterką jest niezwykła rzeźbiarka Maria Papa Rostkowska. Pierwszy raz z jej historią zetknęłam się kilka lat temu podczas pracy w muzeum i od razu wywarła na mnie wrażenie. Maria była polską artystką, rzeźbiarką, która - zanim osiągnęła sukces - przeszła niezwykłą, a zarazem wyboistą drogę. Ostatecznie jej prace trafiły do jednych z najlepszych galerii sztuki w Europie takich jak Galleria del Navigio w Mediolanie, Salon de Mai, Brera, czy Galerie Mony Calatchi. Były również prezentowane na wielu prestiżowych wystawach. Twórczość Papy Rostkowskiej została także wielokrotnie doceniona podczas Biennale Sztuki w Carrarze (1993). Pamięć o artystce pozostaje żywa dzięki działalności syna, Mikołaja Rostkowskiego, który pośredniczy w organizacji wystaw we współpracy z instytucjami kultury, między innymi: Musée d’art et d’histoire de Meudon, Muzeum Narodowym w Warszawie, Centrum Rzeźby Polskiej w Orońsku oraz Palace de la Chaume a Issoudun. W 1966 roku otrzymała prestiżową nagrodę William and Norma Copley Foundation.

Aby film powstał, pozyskałam już strategicznego partnera, reżysera oraz zgody bohaterów. Kolejnym krokiem było złożenie wniosku o dofinansowanie projektu. Warunkiem uzyskania wsparcia jest wkład 5% wartości budżetu. Mam nadzieję, że powstała zrzutka sprawi, że będzie to możliwe.

Uzbierane pieniądze pokryją koszty: 

·      transportu ekipy i sprzętu podczas realizacji zdjęć, 

·      zakupu dysków do archiwizacji materiałów, 

·      zakupu licencji do materiałów archiwalnych – będących ważną częścią filmu, 

Pozostałe wydatki ujęte w budżecie projektu – w tym wypożyczenie sprzętu kamerowego i dźwiękowego, koszty biletów lotniczych i pobytu za granicą, wynagrodzenia członków ekipy, montaż, postprodukcja, ubezpieczenia, tłumaczenia, przygotowania napisów, koszty zgłoszeń na festiwale, a nawet promocja filmu – zostaną pokryte dzięki dofinansowaniu. 

Hello everyone, 

I would like to tell you a story that inspires, delights and motivates me every day. 

I plan to make a documentary about one of the most interesting Polish artists of the 20th century, Maria Papa Rostkowska. I first heard of her a few years ago when I was working at the National Museum. Her story impressed me the first time I heard it. Maria was a Polish sculptor and before before becoming, successful she had to travel a long way from the train to Oświęcim to the biggest art galleries in Europe - Galleria del Navigio in Milan, Salon de Mai, Brera or Galerie Mony Calatchi. Her works have been presented at prestigious exhibitions all over the world, such as the Carrara Art Biennale. In 1966 she received the prestigious William and Norma Copley Foundation Award.

The artist's memory is still alive thanks to her son Mikołaj Rostkowski, who organizes an exhibition of her sculptures in collaboration with cultural institutions such as the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Meudon, the National Museum in Warsaw, the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko or the Palace de la Chaume in Issoudun.

In order to make dreams come true and produce the documentary, I had to find a strategic partner, a director as well as the necessary permissions. I also applied for a grant. The condition of the grant is that I have to provide 5% of the budget as a financial contribution. 

The money from crowdfounding will cover the costs of 

- the transport of the crew and equipment during the shooting

- the purchase of discs for archive material 

- the purchase of licences for archive footage - an important part of the film

The rest of the project’s costs including: camera and sound equipment rental, airfare and accommodation, crew salaries, editing, insurance, translation, subtitling, festival entry costs and even promotion of the film - will be covered by the grant.
