To nie Prima Aprilis – Milo ma autyzm dziecięcy. Żeby zapewnić mu terapię już, natychmiast, a nie za 2-3 miesiące kiedy przejdziemy komisje i dostaniemy orzeczenia o niepełnosprawności i zaświadczenie o potrzebie Wczesnego Wspomagania Rozwoju, potrzebujemy pomocy.

W jego zachowaniu jest sporo pozytywów, ale autyzm jest dynamiczny. Na szczęście dynamiczny i plastyczny jest też mózg takiego malucha (2 lata). ALE, terapia musi być 1) natychmiast i 2) intensywnie. NFZ może mu zaoferować maximum 8 godzin zajęć miesięcznie. Tak, to mało. 960 złotych miesięcznie zapewni nam 3 godziny terapii tygodniowo w prywatnym ośrodku (nie wliczając w to zajęć z Terapii Sensorycznej).

Za 6 miesięcy będzie mógł iść do przedszkola, ale to musi być terapuetyczne – co najmniej przez kolejnych 12 miesięcy -  koszt około 1500zł/m-c (plus wyżywienie).

Poza terapią czeka nas diagnostyka Integracji Sensorycznej (400zł), badanie EEG (w domu, żeby odczyt był miarodajny, i żeby Milo nie miał traumy totalnej – choć traumę będzie miał), neurologopeda (200), kolejna konsultacja psychiatryczna (2 wizyty 300zł każda), neurolog (200) – nie, nie możemy zrobić tego w ramach mojego ubezpieczenia LuxMed. Do tego badania metaboliczne i genetyczne – koszt kosmiczny bo ponad 7000zł, więc będziemy czekały na NFZ.

Koszty do tej pory diagnoza (1800zł), konsultacja SI (90zł), wizyty u neurologa, oraz psychologa (500zł), poniosłyśmy same.

Dodatek pielegnacyjny jaki być może dostaniemy to 239,66zł miesięcznie.

When you look at him, you would not tell. Yet, Milo has just been diagnosed with autism. We did our homework; we are already in the process of getting his disability and Early Intervention Therapy provided by the state. However, this will take another 2 to 3 months of bureaucratic procedures and will only give us maximum 4 to 8 hours of therapy per month. That is not enough. And not fast enough for a young dynamic brain of a 2yo.

There is plenty of positive behaviours and strong traits. To make sure we build on it and ensure he gets the help he needs with the weaker sides (social interactions, nonverbal communication, dealing with anger and violent/ self-violent behaviours) we must start the therapy immediately. Privately we will have to pay more than 1500PLN for a months’ worth of therapy. And will have to maintain this for 6 months.

In 6 months’, he will be able to join special education kindergarden – those are not-subsidized by the state, and so cost will fall on us (that’s 1500PLN per month, for at least 12 months).

Besides therapy, we will also have to go through additional tests (EEG) and diagnosis of Sensory Integration (not covered by National Health System either).

We would have never asked for anything for us. We always took care of ourselves. But now our son’s future is on the line, and for Him we will do everything.
