im a close friend of Leilanis mother. Leilani was born prematurely and suffered haemorrhaging level 1which led to her bleeding in the skull. She went through 2 operations, the first one was to put a shunt so it’s easier and less invasive for the surgeons to keep drain cerebral fluid from the skull and rather do it through the shunt. The second operation was to create a permanent drainage system so there’s a tube within that drains fluid from the shunt to her stomach which she passes out. On top of that she had a buildup of bilirubin and had to go through blue light therapy. She was on Oxygen for the first 3 months of her life as well. During her third month it was discovered that she had ROP which is when abnormal blood vessels grow in the retina and can lead to blindness. She was transferred to a different hospital in a different city to go through laser therapy and thankfully it was a success like her other 2 operations. Right now Leilani is recovering and learning how to feed and bonding with her mother. Unfortunately her mother is just a student unable to put Leilani under insurance because she lacks the required documentation for it so she is kindly asking for your assistance to help cover the medical expenses.
