Description

When you live in the Jizera Mountains and have a great herd of dogs, you can expect new "dog adventure" for sure.

Three Czechs came out of the forest near my house one day. Two of them crazy, shouting and terribly cheerful were leading the Third one. The Third, unfortunately, was not so cheerful, he could hardly move. They were dogs of course.

Guys came closer and found shelter under my tree. As soon as my new residents got my attention, Two of them realized the Third would be well looked after, and they vanished quickly. It occurred The Third one had his front left leg badly hurt.

Tosia (my daughter) persuaded the Third to come out of the bushes and he became next member of our family this way. He was about 8 kg and Yaga (our 10 kg dog on three legs) shared the bed and food. The Third was named Leon.

The veterinary diagnosis showed that Leon most probably escaped poacher's snares. Unfortunately he got his left leg badly broken to do that. What’s worse, it could have been even a month ago which made whole treatment much more complicated. He has both bones broken in that tiny paw, and the only option is complicated and expensive surgery.

What can I do?  Drive him to a shelter, forget about his existence and leave him be? I can't. Each of my dogs went through hell, got shotgun shot, lost an eye and a piece of ear, lost a leg, was physical abused by the owner, etc. How could I refuse helping this young one when he came to me for help on his own?

I must asking for help first time in my life. I’m not able to cover the cost of the surgery and the other veterinary fees. We count on luck that accompanies us and good karma that comes back I hope <3 This time we are not only helping but really need help as well.

We will appreciate any help you could provide. Please let us change Leon’s life for good. It's about time. He's still young enough (almost 1 year old puppy) to believe in human.

Thank you very much,

The Kupis Family
