Jestem filmowcem i eventowcem, w działalności artystycznej łączę różne formy sztuki. Fascynują mnie bicykle, trycykle i wszystko, co jeździ na kołach bez silnika – moja specjalność to eventy retro. Pracuję też w sektorze społecznym. Przed wybuchem pandemii covid-19 rozpocząłem prace nad zbudowaniem trycykla z pozytywką, który miał być wykorzystany:

1)     podczas komercyjnych eventów retro

2)     podczas eventów dla Domu Dziecka nr 12 i Pogotowia Interwencyjnego nr 1 w Warszawie

3)     podczas eventów dla Fundacji Habitat for Humanity Poland

Inwestycja już się rozpoczęła, ale pandemia spowodowała ograniczenie mojej działalności i utratę finansowania. Zwracam się z prośbą o wsparcie, które pomoże ukończyć budowę unikatowego welocypedu.

O planecie Hymyillä

Planeta Hymyillä to inaczej „planeta uśmiechu”, na którą można dostać się z pomocą trycykla. Swoją nazwę zawdzięcza fińskiemu słowu „Hymyillä” (= uśmiech), wszak to w Finlandii – w regionie Laponia – mieszka św. Mikołaj, który czyni dobro i wywołuje uśmiech na twarzach. Ale św. Mikołaj działa tylko w sezonie zimowym… Organizując wydarzenia z trycyklem w sezonie, gdy św. Mikołaj odpoczywa, zapraszam Was w podróż trycyklem na planetę Hymyillä!

O trycyklu

To pomysł, do którego zaprosiłem specjalistów. Projekt trycykla z pozytywką stworzył Łukasz Cybulski, pasjonat XIX‑wiecznych rowerów, ich producent i popularyzator, oraz Piotr Zaczek technik teatru Rampa. Muzykę do pozytywki – Patryk Zakrocki, utalentowany muzyk i kompozytor.

1.    O projektach komercyjnych z trycyklem

Trycykl chcę wykorzystywać do działalności zawodowej w czasie pandemii, gdyż umożliwia organizację eventów w sposób bezpieczny i nietuzinkowy. Pozwoli to poprawić kondycję finansową mojej firmy, która pogorszyła się wskutek aktualnych ograniczeń działalności branży eventowej. Wydarzenia z trycyklem to dawka pozytywnej energii przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu bezpiecznej odległości.

2.    O projekcie dla Domu Dziecka nr 12 i Pogotowia Interwencyjnego nr 1 w Warszawie

Zorganizowanie dla wychowanków Domu Dziecka nr 12 i Pogotowia Interwencyjnego nr 1 w Warszawie widowiska artystycznego z trycyklem to pomysł na pierwsze charytatywne wykorzystanie trycykla. Są to dzieci, które nie mają na co dzień wsparcia bliskich. Z powodu pandemii wszystkie dzieci są w trudnej sytuacji, ale mieszkańcy tych placówek, niemający rodziców lub niemający ich przy sobie, są w szczególnej sytuacji wykluczenia. Planowany happening z trycyklem, łączący muzykę, film i sztukę performance, umożliwi dzieciom udział w nietuzinkowym wydarzeniu, pobudzającym wyobraźnię, rozwijającym kreatywność i dostarczającym wiele radości.

Jak będzie wyglądać event dla dzieci?

To nie będzie rundka trycyklem wokół budynku! Wydarzenie zostanie przygotowane przez specjalistów branży eventowej, muzycznej i filmowej. Poprzedzą je warsztaty improwizacji muzycznej, podczas których wspólnie stworzymy narrację muzyczną eventu. W umówiony dzień pod oknami Domu Dziecka / Pogotowia Interwencyjnego pojawi się trycykl. Ten niezwykły trójkołowiec będzie prowadził człowiek ubrany całkiem inaczej niż zaleca dzisiejsza moda – w kraciaste spodnie na szelkach i cyklistówkę założoną na bakier. Dzieci w oknach będą współtworzyć spektakl, grając i wchodząc w role aktorów wraz z czerwonym sercem, uniwersalnym symbolem dobra i miłości, cyklistą i animatorami. Z wydarzenia powstanie dokumentujący je film krótkometrażowy, a jeśli kwota zbiórki zostanie przekroczona, to – w ramach podziękowania dla darczyńców – wykonamy rundę honorową „Trycyklem przez Warszawę”, z filmem live w trakcie wydarzenia.

Dlaczego to robimy?

Być może ktoś w Was powie, że wychowankom Domu Dziecka czy Pogotowia Opiekuńczego należy zapewnić głównie niezbędne środki do życia: ubrania, jedzenie, edukację. My jednak wierzymy, że młodzież, także tzw. trudna młodzież, potrzebuje kontaktu ze sztuką i możliwości doświadczenia czegoś wyjątkowego. Uczestnicy wydarzenia przeżyją coś niezwykłego, co pozostanie w nich na zawsze. Coś, co – być może – ich zmieni. Coś, co sprawi, że na ich twarzach rozkwitnie uśmiech! Wierzymy, że angażowanie dzieci w trudnej sytuacji w performance art, może stać się inspiracją ich dalszego rozwoju.

Trycykl zmodyfikowany do wersji cargo (z koszem) będę wykorzystywał podczas eventów charytatywnych, a uzyskane darowizny rzeczowe przekażę do sklepu charytatywnego ReStore Fundacji Habitat for Humanity Poland

Kim jestem?

Mariusz Wojtowicz – pomysłodawca i realizator projektu „Trycyklem do planety Hymyillä”. Jako dziecko wyjechałem do Włoch, gdzie spędziłem 20 lat. Po powrocie do kraju w 2002 r. rozwinąłem działalność jako artysta uliczny, scenarzysta i twórca filmów krótkometrażowych. Do dziś zrealizowałem jako scenarzysta, reżyser i producent 5 filmów krótkometrażowych – fabularnych, eksperymentalnych, niskobudżetowych, 2 spoty oraz 2 filmy dokumentalne/instruktażowe. Filmy te zdobyły łącznie 13 nagród i kilka wyróżnień na różnych festiwalach w Polsce i zagranicą.

To the Planet Hymyillä on a Tricycle

Description of the fundraiser

I am a filmmaker and an event manager. In my artistic activity I combine various forms of art. I am fascinated by high wheel bicycles, tricycles and everything that moves around on wheels without an engine—I specialize in retro-themed events. I am also active professionally in the social area. Before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, I started working on building a tricycle with a music box which was to be used:

1.      during commercial retro-themed events

2.      during events for Orphanage No 12 and Emergency Care Shelter No 1 in Warsaw

3.      during events for the Habitat for Humanity Poland foundation

The investment was launched, but the pandemic restrained my activity and as a result I lost my financial resources. I would like to ask you for support which would help me complete the construction of a unique velocipede.

About the planet Hymyillä

The planet Hymyillä, in other words “the planet of smile”, is a place you can get to with the help of a tricycle. It draws its name from the Finnish word “Hymyillä” (= smile), it’s located in Finland—in the region of Lapland— where Santa Claus resides doing good deeds and bringing smiles to people’s faces. But Santa Claus is active only during winter... As I am organizing events while using the tricycle in seasons when Santa Claus is taking a rest, I would like to invite you on a tricycle ride to the planet Hymyillä!

About the tricycle

Building a replica of a 19th-century tricycle with a music box and using it for professional and social purposes is an idea around which I managed to gather a group of specialists. The design of the tricycle with a music box was created by Łukasz Cybulski, passionate about 19th-century bicycles all the while manufacturing and promoting them, as well as by Piotr Zaczek, a member of the technical crew of the Rampa Theater. The music for the music box was composed by Patryk Zakrocki, a talented musician and composer.

1.      About commercial projects with the use of the tricycle

I would like to use the tricycle for professional purposes during the time of the pandemic as it allows to organize events in a safe and unconventional manner. It will help to improve my company’s financial situation which deteriorated as a result of current limitations in the event industry. Tricycle-based events are a dose of positive energy which enable to keep a safe distance.

2.                 About the project for Orphanage No 12 and Emergency Care Shelter No 1 in Warsaw

Organizing an artistic spectacle with a tricycle for the children from Orphanage No 12 and those from the Emergency Care Shelter No 1 in Warsaw is an idea for the first charity use of the tricycle. These are kids who lack the daily support of their closest relatives. Because of the pandemic all the children are experiencing a tough time, but the inhabitants of these institutions, without parents or without the presence of their parents by their side, are in a particularly difficult situation of exclusion. The planned happening with a tricycle, combining music, film and performance art, will allow the children to participate in an unconventional event, stimulating their imagination, developing their creativity and bringing them a lot of joy.

What will the event for children look like?

It’s not going to be about going around a building on a tricycle! The event will be prepared by specialists from event, music and film industries. It will be preceded by a workshop of musical improvisation, during which together we will create a musical narrative for the event. On a set day a tricycle will appear outside of the windows of the Orphanage / Emergency Care Shelter. This unusual three-wheeler bicycle will be pushed by a man dressed quite unlike the recommendations of present-day fashion—checkered trousers with suspenders and a crookedly worn flat cap. The children at the windows will co-create the spectacle, playing music and entering roles of actors with a red heart—the universal symbol of goodness and love—and a cyclist and animators. The event will be documented in a  short and if the aimed amount of money gathered is exceeded, we will perform a live streaming event in the form of a victory lap titled “Warsaw on a Tricycle”, as a token of gratitude to our benefactors.

Why do we do this?

Some of you might feel that the charges of the Orphanage or the Emergency Care Shelter need to be provided mainly with basic necessities such as clothes, food and education. We are convinced, however, that the youth, including the so-called difficult youth, need contact with art and the possibility of experiencing something extraordinary. Participants will get in touch with something unusual which will stay with them forever. Something that might perhaps change them. Something that will make smiles reappear on their faces! We strongly believe that including children in difficult situation in performance arts may become an inspiration for their further development.

3.                 About the project of events with a cargo tricycle

I will use the tricycle modified to a cargo version (with a basket) during charity events, and I will donate the in-kind donations collected this way to the ReStore charity shop of the Habitat for Humanity Poland Foundation.

About me

Mariusz Wojtowicz — the man behind the idea running the “To the Planet Hymyillä on a Tricycle” project. As a child I moved to Italy, where I spent 20 years of my life. After returning to Poland in 2002, I developed my activity as a street artist, scriptwriter and a creator of short films. To this day I have completed 5 shorts as a scriptwriter, director and producer. These include feature, experimental, and low-budget movies, as well as 2 commercial spots and 2 documentary/instructional videos. These films have won a total of 13 awards and several honorable mentions at various festivals.
