After 2022 success and incredible engagement of all, great MSA's (and not only) people, we're going to support another family via Noble Gift charity event in 2023 as well. From many families in need, we decided to support Piotr with his mother Helena, as their story made a huge impact on us all:

"6 years ago, Piotr was living an ordinary life. He worked as a pastry cook for 30 years. Around the age of 50, he discovered a new passion and started working in a carpentry shop.

He had never married, neither had he any children, and had always lived with his mother in a small house near the forest. Everything has changed when, one day, he slipped and fell under the wheels of a train. In this accident, he lost both legs.

Piotr was in rehabilitation for 2 years and it’s been a difficult, painful experience. His dream was to have prosthetic legs. He really hoped that he’d be able to function “normally” again. So, he eventually got them (took out a loan from the bank), but it quickly turned out that walking was incredibly difficult, and what's worse, they caused wounds on the stumps. Daily use of the prostheses was not helping them to heal: they kept festering, he had infections and therefore required special, medical treatment from various doctors. Each time, Piotr uses prostheses, it causes him great pain.

His mother – Helena - has lung and heart problems. She is scheduled to undergo major heart surgery in the next 4 months".

The amount we want to collect, very likely, will change as we need to discuss the wheelchair options with the family curator. Wheelchair is a key point of our collection. Furthermore, Piotr needs new shoes for the protheses (they wear out quickly) and the family also needs base coats to paint the house. Po zeszłorocznym sukcesie i super zaangażowaniu wszystkich, super MSA (i nie tylko) ludków, w 2023 również będziemy wspierać potrzebujących ze Szlachetnej Paczki. Spośród wielu, wybraliśmy p. Piotra z mamą Heleną, którego historia mocno wywarła na nas wrażenie:

"Jeszcze 6 lat temu życie pana Piotra przebiegało bardzo zwyczajnie. Przez 30 lat pracował jako cukiernik. Około pięćdziesiątki odkrył nową pasję i zaczął pracę w stolarni.

Nigdy się nie ożenił, nie ma dzieci. Od zawsze mieszka z mamą w małym domku koło lasu. Wszystko zmieniło się, gdy któregoś dnia poślizgnął się i wpadł pod koła kolejki WKD. W wypadku stracił obydwie nogi.

Leczenie i trudna rehabilitacja trwały dwa lata. Marzeniem pana Piotra były protezy nóg. Miał ogromną nadzieję, że mając je, będzie w stanie "normalnie" funkcjonować. Gdy je dostał (częściowo wykupił, biorąc kredyt) szybko okazało się, że chodzenie w nich jest bardzo trudne, na dodatek powoduje rany na kikutach. Częste używanie protez sprawia, że rany odnawiają się i nie chcą się zagoić. Ostatnio wdała się infekcja, co wymaga zastosowania specjalistycznego leczenia. Wymaga to częstych wizyt u różnych specjalistów. Przy każdorazowym używaniu protez, pan Piotr odczuwa ogromny ból i cierpienie.

Pani Helena ma chore płuca i serce. W ciągu najbliższych 4 miesięcy ma przejść poważną operację serca."

Na ten moment, podana kwota zrzutki jest kwotą "pi razy drzwi", ponieważ będziemy kontaktować się z opiekunem tej rodziny, aby ustalić szczegóły odnośnie zakupu wózka, który jest tutaj kluczową potrzebą p.
