Nasza córka Iga ma 29 lat. W zeszłym roku skończyła studia magisterskie na kierunku projektowania tkanin, na Uniwersytecie Wießensee w Berlinie. Do końca stycznia pracowała w marce modowej. O diagnozie dowiedzieliśmy się 1. lutego i do tej pory nie możemy się z nią pogodzić. U Igi został zdiagnozowany bardzo rzadki nowotwór opłucnej (międzybłoniak opłucnej - pleural mesothelioma). Jest to rodzaj nowotworu, który atakuje osoby starsze, pracujące w środowisku azbestowym, rozwija się on przez wiele lat. W przypadku Igi, która dba o zdrowie i bada się regularnie, szokiem było to, że guz urósł w mniej niż rok. Przez chorobę Iga nie jest w stanie pracować, ani tworzyć swoich projektów artystycznych.

Na początku marca Iga rozpoczęła immunoterapię w Berlinie, ponieważ tam mieszka i jest ubezpieczona. Niestety po trzech wlewach dowiedzieliśmy się, że terapia zawiodła, a guz rozrasta się w zawrotnym tempie. Lekarze podjęli decyzję o natychmiastowej zmianie terapii i zastosowali chemioterapię połączoną z radioterapią. Na ten moment perspektywy są bardzo pesymistyczne, Iga oddycha jednym płucem, ponieważ drugie prawie w całości zajęte jest przez nowotwór. 

Pomimo złych prognoz nie poddajemy się i chcemy zastosować dodatkowo leczenie komplementarne w klinikach, które nie są objęte niemieckim ubezpieczeniem zdrowotnym. Wiąże się to z bardzo wysokimi kosztami, ponieważ doba w takiej klinice kosztuje około 400 EUR. Ponadto dochodzą do tego dojazdy do kliniki oddalonej od Berlina o 600 km i akomodacja. Leczenie komplementarne wzmocniłoby Igę i pomogłoby jej lepiej znosić skutki chemio i radioterapii. W Niemczech kliniki komplementarne współpracują ze szpitalami, dzięki czemu leczenie konwencjonalne może być zastosowane w parze z metodami niekonwencjonalnymi.

Wierzymy w to, że zastosowanie tego planu da optymistyczny rezultat i przyczyni się do wyleczenia Igi, która będzie mogła odzyskać siłę, by spełniać swoje marzenia.

Our daughter Iga is 29 years old. Last year, she completed her master's degree in textile design at the University of Wießensee in Berlin. Until the end of January, she worked in a fashion brand. We learned about the diagnosis on February 1st and we still cannot come to terms with it. Iga was diagnosed with a very rare pleural cancer (pleural mesothelioma). It is a type of cancer that affects older people who worked in asbestos environments and develops over many years. In the case of Iga, who cares about her health and has regular examinations, it was a shock that the tumor grew in less than a year. Due to her illness, Iga is unable to work or create her artistic projects.

At the beginning of March, Iga started immunotherapy in Berlin, where she lives and is insured. Unfortunately, after three infusions, we learned that the therapy had failed and the tumor was growing at a dizzying pace. The doctors decided immediately to change the therapy and used chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy. At the moment, the prospects are very pessimistic, Iga breathes with one lung, because the other is almost entirely occupied by cancer.

Despite the bad prognosis, we do not give up and want to use additional complementary treatment in clinics that German health insurance does not cover. This is associated with very high costs, as a day in such a clinic costs about EUR 400. In addition, there are costs of travel and accommodation (one of the clinics is located 600 km away from Berlin). Complementary treatment would strengthen Iga and help her better cope with the effects of chemo and radiotherapy. In Germany, complementary clinics cooperate with hospitals, thanks to which conventional treatment can be used in tandem with unconventional methods.

We believe that the application of this plan will give an optimistic result and will contribute to the healing of Iga, who will be able to regain the strength to fulfill her dreams.
