Dear friends and friends of friends. While the circumstances are not too great, I am happy to announce that I happen to have 12 new family members in Warsaw. My new extended family just arrived from Ukraine and for the moment we found some temporary accommodation. The family is composed of around (some more are coming) 4 women, 4 girls, 2 teenage girls one man and one boy. Teenagers had their first day in Ukrainian school in Warsaw today :) Unfortunately, their fathers cannot join them because they are busy fighting for an independent Ukraine (Most men is not allowed to leave the country). For the moment I manage to provide for all, but as you can imagine it is becoming more difficult in long term. They all came with no belongings so we need from socks to shampoo and from shoes to electric kettle. You can only imagine how I struggled yesterday to figure out who will prefer NIVEA over Palmolive and who prefers Dove :) I would like to give a chance to live a non-refugee lifestyle, and encouraged by friend who would like support remotely, decided to collect some money and let them choose what they need by themselves. Most of my family members will probably get some jobs soon, but since they speak Russian and Ukrainian only I would not expect dream jobs with a huge salary. For the moment I am collecting just for the start, but this may help to balance their budget once they have some income by themselves.
