History of family:

The family did well until illnesses hit all its members. The difficulties have been ongoing for several years, during which the health of family members has deteriorated significantly. On a daily basis, Mr. Antoni looks after the parents with whom he lives. Due to his disability, the man cannot work. Both parents require constant help. Mr. Wojciech has been bedridden for two years, following a stroke. Mrs. Wanda cannot be left unattended because she suffers from breast cancer and lung diseases. Despite the problems, Mr. Antoni tries to be strong and provide parents with the best possible care. This is not easy because the apartment is in poor condition. Due to the lack of funds, Mr. Antoni does not take the necessary medications and his health deteriorats. The family income includes retirement pensions, sickness benefits and nursing allowances (PLN 3,897 in total), but after paying bills, buying necessary medications and hygiene products, the family is left with PLN 139 per month per person.

The family enjoys every little thing and every moment spent together - it appreciates life itself. Mr. Antoni tries to repay his parents for raising him and taking care of him - as he says, any person would do it. He takes care of parents as well as the house, cooking and cleaning. Strong ties between family members allow them to survive difficult times, mobilizing them to continue fighting for better days. Mr. Antoni and Mrs. Wanda admitted that they dream of a moment of rest.
