Rodzina Zahira potrzebuje szybko wydostać się z ogarniętego wojną Sudanu!

Tydzień temu, Zahirowi udało się dostać do Maskatu w Omanie, gdzie uzyskał wizy dla swojej rodziny: pięciorga dzieci (w wieku od 2 do 15 lat), żony i rodziców, którzy w tej chwili czekają w Port Sudan na możliwość wyjazdu.

W Sudanie od 15 miesięcy trwa wojna domowa, w wyniku której blisko 10 milionów osób (czyli 1/3 całkowitej populacji) straciło dom. Działalność organizacji humanitarnych w kraju jest również ograniczona z powodu nierespektowania przez żadną ze stron konfliktu zasad i płynących z tego zagrożeń.

Pomimo konieczności ucieczki z Chartum i utraty domu z większością dóbr, Zahir z rodziną starali się znaleźć dla siebie miejsce w kraju, w nadzei na szybki koniec konfliktu i możliwość odbudowy dotychczasowego życia. Po wielu miesiącach okazało się, że sytuacja w Sudanie tylko się pogorszyła i jedynym wyjściem jest wyjazd z kraju.

Oman, do którego Zahir chce sprowadzić rodzinę, jest krajem, w którym mogą legalnie zostać (minimum 2 lata, z możliwością przedłużenia pozwolenia na pobyt), gdzie ma perspektywy zawodowe (prowadzi własną działalność jako inżynier-informatyk) i gdzie dzieci mogą szybko wrócić do szkoły (publiczny system szkolny w Omanie jest niemal bezpłatny i dostępny dla obcokrajowców, a nauczanie odbywa się po arabsku).

W związku z tym, że sytuacja w Sudanie może się w każdej chwili pogorszyć, trzeba działać szybko: musimy kupić 8 biletów lotniczych z Port Sudan to Maskatu (wczoraj [24.06] bilety na za kilka dni kosztowały około 2700 PLN za osobę), co daje przybliżoną kwotę 22.000 PLN dla całej rodziny. Jeśli po zakupie biletów ze zbiórki zostanie nadwyżka (liczę na Waszą hojność!), zostanie ona przekazana Zahirowi, by pomóc jego rodzinie i jemu na starcie w Omanie.

PS. Zahira znam osobiście - przepięknie i bezinteresownie zaopiekował się mną w Sudanie w 2017 (chętnym opowiem przy okazji). A bilety lotnicze kupię ja, więc nie będzie cyrków z przelewaniem dużych sum z Polski do Sudanu.

Zahir's family needs to get out of war-torn Sudan quickly!

A week ago, Zahir managed to get to Muscat in Oman, where he obtained visas for his family: five children (aged 2 to 15), his wife and parents, who are currently waiting in Port Sudan for the opportunity to leave.

There has been a civil war in Sudan for 15 months, as a result of which nearly 10 million people (or 1/3 of the total population) have lost their homes. The activities of humanitarian organizations in the country are also limited due to the failure of any party to the conflict to respect the rules and the resulting threats.

Despite having to escape from Khartoum and losing their home with most of their belongings, Zahir and his family tried to find a place for themselves in the country, hoping for a quick end to the conflict and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. After many months, it turned out that the situation in Sudan had only worsened and the only solution was to leave the country.

Oman, to which Zahir wants to bring his family, is a country where they can stay legally (for a minimum of 2 years, with the possibility of extending the residence permit), where he has professional prospects (he runs his own business as an IT engineer) and where the children can quickly return to schools (the public school system in Oman is almost free and accessible to foreigners, and teaching is conducted in Arabic).

Due to the fact that the situation in Sudan may deteriorate at any time, we need to act quickly: we need to buy 8 plane tickets from Port Sudan to Muscat (yesterday [24/06] tickets for a few days cost about 625 EUR per person), which gives approximate amount of 5000 EUR for the entire family. If there is a surplus from the collection after purchasing tickets (I am counting on your generosity!), it will be given to Zahir to help his family and him at the start in Oman.

PS. I know Zahir personally - he took wonderful and selfless care of me in Sudan in 2017. And I will buy the plane tickets, so there will be no rollercoaster with transferring large sums from Poland to Sudan.
