Mariusz Kurnyta, czyli człowiek Lasu, zajmuje się pomocą uchodźcom na granicy Polsko-Białoruskiej od początku kryzysu migracyjnego. To już dwa lata!

Jest cały czas dostępny - odpowiada na wezwania, oraz, kiedy ich nie ma - wybiera się do lasu na patrole i szuka tych, którzy nie mają szans się z nim, skontaktować (brak telefonów, stan agonalny). Idzie na akcje, na które nikt inny nie ma odwagi pójść. Wchodzi w bagna, nawet nocą. Jednorazowo, przechodzi kilkadziesiąt kilometrów, dźwigając na sobie plecaki, które ważą po kilkadziesiąt kilogramów. 

Prywatnie, jest ojcem trójki dzieci, które wychowuje samotnie. Opracował całą infrastrukturę, żeby móc wchodzić do lasu, mając pewność, że jego dzieci są bezpieczne. Są przede wszystkim szczęśliwe i dumne z ojca i same zajmują się pomocą humanitarną w zakresie dla nich możliwym. 

Mariusz, uratował ponad 2000 ludzi.

W tym roku, zasilił szeregi POPHu - Podlaskiego Ochotniczego Pogotowia Humanitarnego.

Pracuje jako wolontariusz w Fundacji Wolno Nam.

Zdobył nagrody:

Description of the fundraiser

– He has helped over a thousand people (in less than a year),saved many lives, and is still helping every day.

– In order to be available all the time, he quit his job – he is always on call.

– "I don't have time to help," he always has. Although he is the father of three young children whom he brings up on his own. Logistics and good intentions – that's how he handles it. And his children are very proud of their dad.

If you support the actions of the Man of the Forest, and I believe you do, I invite you to contribute to this fundraiser, each contribution is important, both small and large.

• Since July 2021, the Man of the Forest has been providing humanitarian aid to people in danger to their health and life on the Polish-Belarusian border. His help does not end with the forest (he also supports people in open and closed detention centers, and he helps in Lithuania and Belarus).

• He uses very effective methods of assistance that require a lot of courage; he often deals with border guards who do not support his actions. During one intervention, he was stabbed with a knife by an intruder (not by the border guards).

• Officially opposes the inhumane policy of the ruling party, which has developed barbaric methods of pushing backthose asking for help.

• He is the face of the movement, one of the few, speaks in the media about what is happening on the border andappears at political rallies.

– For a year, responding to every call, at any time of the day and night, he has been entering the forest and saving people's lives.

• What does he do? – Whatever it takes. He goes for interventions, practically every day, and even several times a day (from 5 to 100 km one way). He feeds people, gives them water (some have not eaten or drunk for several days), pulls them out of swamps and rivers, and gives them medical help by creating ad hoc field hospitals in the forests. The youngest child he helped was 40 days old and trapped with his family in a swamp.

For what do we collect to support the Man of the Forest?

• For transportation

• For all the needs of the refugees (food, medicines, clothes, telephones, phone chargers, power banks, sleeping bags, specialized drugs – whatever is asked, we do not question it).

• For the creation of the Museum of Unwanted by the Man of the Forest, for which he collects evidence from the forest.

• For his current needs. Let us remember that every day, risking his own health, he enters the forest and helps people. And he is a father himself, but he quit his job for moral reasons.
