Description

I'm originally from a small town in Poland called Zawadzkie, where my friends and family are doing amazing things to support Ukrainians coming into Poland, as well as these who stayed in the Ukraine to fight.

Being unable to support on the ground I decided to start a fundraiser to help buy food, medication and medical supplies.

I have done a quick fundraiser last weekend (26-27h Feb), which meant that money collected then was split and was used to buy food, water and medical supplies that made it to the border and into Ukraine respectively. Since this is a fast way to help, I thought I do this on a bigger scale second time around.

My sister (follow her on IG @magdalenacembolista ) is in the team coordinating the aid effort out of Zawadzkie and they go to the Polish-Ukrainian border(they even were on TV!) every few days to

  • deliver freshly made food for those who stood 2-3 days in the cold in queues to get into Poland.
  • deliver supplies that are then taken through green corridors into Ukraine.
  • collect people and drive them to a pre-arranged accommodation in Poland.

What will the money spend on if you donate?

The situation is very dynamic, which means that the volunteers who drive to the border with donations as well as the people going into Ukraine know best what is needed most right now. For example, 5 days ago it was clothes but that is largely sorted now and the needs now are more around fresh food for the refugees who are settling in Poland and medical equipment, bandages and dressings and sleeping bags - for those in Ukraine.

The fundraiser closes on Tuesday (8th March) at 23:59 so the money can be spent on items, which will be delivered to the border on Saturday 12th March.

All receipts and invoices will be provided on here as proof to show where the money from this fundraiser has gone.

Terrible situation unfolding in Ukraine, my heart goes out to the families affected. A great cause here to support them, well done.
