The Furball Foundation is a non-profit organisation created in November 2015 by a group of volunteers who couldn't stand by looking at the suffering of homeless animals. Those animal-lovers are driven by a mission:

We help those whom the world has left behind. We love, we heal, we find homes. Because every life deserves a chance.

The main goals set for the organization include, among others:

• environmental protection with particular emphasis on animal protection;
• counteracting pathologies and all forms of violence and cruelty towards animals;
• supporting all activities aimed at preventing and combating animal homelessness (through a sterilization and castration program); 
• treating and caring for homeless, abused, or abandoned animals, and providing adoption assistance;
• providing assistance to abused, abandoned, and lost animals;
• promoting the idea of animal rights protection in society.

The Furball Foundationis supporting institutions and individuals providing assistance to homeless animals. Volunteers are also taking care of dozens of animals from the area on a daily basis.
