It was an ordinary winter day, February 7th, 2017 when a little Mateusz was born in the 32nd week of his mom’s pregnancy.

Mateusz was born with a serious genetic diseases - myotubular myopathy and unidentified lack of immunity.

Then, it the first days of his life, this diagnosis sounded like a death sentence. Mateusz is the only child in the world who suffers from these two diseases at the same time.

This little warrior was fighting in a hospital for the first seven months of his little life.

He has undergone five life-saving operations and is still bravely fighting for every single day with his family.

Today, after five years of the unequal struggle, Mateusz is a normally emotionally growing child who perfectly understands the world around him. However, his physical development leaves a lot to be desired. He has been intubated since his birth as he doesn’t have enough strength to breathe by himself.

Myopathy is like a muscle atrophy, affecting not only muscles which support movement, but also the muscles which are responsible for a regular functioning of the internal organs.

Mateusz has a strong character and he is a cheerful boy with a great passion for life that one can see in his eyes but to continue this struggle he needs help as the cost of physio and neuro-therapy, specialist equipment is very huge.

We know there is still some time till Christmas. Yet, the more time, the more chance to raise enough money to this Little Warrior to continue his costly treatments. We are planning to purchase a voucher for treatments.
